Hi Furiends!! Guess what my humom got me!…a doggy backpack! She says with these short winter days coming, it’s too dark to go into the woods after my humom gets home from work. If we were to walk around the neighborhood it wouldn’t tire me out enough. That’s when she thought maybe a backpack would help!
She found this RuffWear Singletrak Pak at the pet food store and thought it was a good fit for me.
It even comes with two water packs (one on each side).
My humom was so proud of me because I wasn’t bothered by the swooshing of the water while I was walking.
We took a walk on a new path that the City of Vancouver had recently built called the Arbutus Greenway. It used to be old railroad tracks but they turned it into a paved walkway for locals to enjoy whether it was a nice stroll through the city, or a bike ride or jogging!
This is what part of it used to look like!
And now it looks like this:
There’s still some more construction that needs to be completed like at intersections of crossroads so that pedestrians can cross safely but lots of people are already using it.
Mia: Okay Mom, I’m ready to go!
Along the path there are many community gardens so it was nice being able to sniff all the greenery. I didn’t like the weird people standing there staring at me though. I think they were called something like scare-dey crows?? They didn’t look like scared crows to me. I growled at them to let them know they didn’t scare me!
My humom wanted to stop and take a picture of this flower. She thought it was a really pretty pink color and it stood out from the rest. As you can see I was not that impressed.
Mia: Can I eat it now?
We walked for quite some time, my humom was hoping I would get tired by the time we got back to the car. Fat chance of that!
Mia: Are we done already?? What’s next mom?
Happy Wednesday Furiends!
Mia

Wow, what a neat backpack! Mom tries to make us carry stuff for her too. But we don’t cooperate as much and tell her we’re too fragile to carry stuff. Love your new walking path. Very nice even with the scardy-crows!

My humom keeps talking about my big muscles and figures I should put them to good use BOL!

The last OES I had used a backpack and he made him even more strong to better pull me down. It was a good idea because he desperately needed a job, but he was too strong for me to control when he had a panic attack or saw a squirrel. I think I was a giant scab for months. 😇 But we know you won’t do anything like that. You can impress the other dogs with your muscles. 🏋️♀️

That’s actually one thing my humom is afraid of…I’m going to turn into a monster muscle dog haha so she makes sure the backpack isn’t TOO heavy and we don’t use it everyday. She blames all the bruises on her legs on me. Hmph.

😁 Yup, it’s all quite the dilemma. Even though strong muscles are especially beautiful on girls.

Strange things appear this time of year. At least I’m not afraid of parked cars and trash bins like my baby sister is. Do you like your backpack? Mom just got me a sweater but it hasn’t been cold enough to wear it yet. It is my first clothes! ~Lucy

Hi Lucy! I love my backpack! It makes me feel like I have a job to do! I can’t wait to see you in your sweater! Have you tried it on yet to make sure it fits? My humom has a hard time finding jackets that fit me because my chest is too wide and muscular. She had to order a custom made/fit one! At least sweaters can stretch a bit!

Mom took me to the store to try it on, just like she does when she buys clothes. I thought we would have to go into a “dressing room,” but she tried sweaters on me right there in the middle of the sweater aisle.

Oh my goodness, you are SO cute in your backpack! What a good idea. And your walking path looks really great – well, except for those strange staring people! Good idea to bark and let them know you’re not scared!

I really love the backpack! What a great idea to change the railway into a path for people and dogs to enjoy.

What a great thing to do with an old railway. I love the community gardens too. We don’t have anything like that in the southern U.S. Mia, it looks like you hade a great time. Enjoy your new walking path, and keep showing those scare-dey crows who’s boss 🙂
